| ACLS 2-Day (Initial) Course |
| Description |
This course is designed for healthcare providers who have not yet completed an ACLS course, although all interested healthcare providers may attend. The ACLS course is designed for Healthcare Providers who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. Through didactic instruction and active participation in simulated cases, students will enhance their skills in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary arrest, acute arrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS). The course is held on 2 consecutive days. The date of the first course meeting is displayed.
Registrations will not be accepted unless accompanied by full payment of the course and/or textbook fee(s). A refund of the course fee (less a $25.00 processing fee) is available if registration is cancelled at least three (3) business days prior to the scheduled course date. If registration is cancelled less than three business days from the course date, or if you are a 'no-show' at the course, the registration fee will not be refunded, and can not be applied to any future course. Please Note: This course requires some advance preparation. Please leave yourself adequate time to prepare for the course. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider number CEP14031 for 12 contact hours, and as a Prehospital Continuing Education Provider, CE Provider number 64-4514 for 12 hours. |

| BLS For Healthcare Providers |
| Description |
This course is appropriate for healthcare providers who are renewing, as well as those taking the course for the first time. The American Heart Association designed the BLS for Healthcare Providers Course to prepare a wide variety of healthcare professionals to recognize several life-threatening emergencies and to provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely, and effective manner. The course includes adult, child, and infant rescue skills in both the out-of-hospital and in-hospital settings. A course completion card (valid for 2 years) will be issued to participants at the end of the course if they successfully complete the written examination and skills demonstrations.
Registration is on a first-come, first served basis with a maximum class size of 12 participants. | Cardiac Dysrhythmia Interpretation |
| Description |
Cardiac rhythm interpretation, hemodynamic consequences of dysrhythmias and therapeutic modalities are emphasized in this 10.5 hour course. The course consists of lecture material, three homework assignments, and a comprehensive post test. An extensive syllabus is included, and will be distributed at the first course meeting. | Description |
This course is intended for all lay persons such as schoolchildren, family members of patients at risk for sudden cardiac death, and other laypersons who want to learn rescue skills for loved ones. The course teaches rescuers skills in CPR (adult, child and infant) and relief of foreign body airway obstruction (choking). Emphasis is on skills practice with the manikins. | Heartsaver CPR/AED |
| Description |
The Heartsaver CPR AED course is designed to teach CPR, AED use and relief of foreign body airway obstruction (choking) in adults, children and infants to all lay rescuers, particularly those who are expected to respond to emergencies in the workplace. A course completion card is issued to participants at the end of this course if they successfully complete the skills demonstrations. This is a modular course; participants may choose to complete only the adult/child CPR AED portion, or the adult/child and infant CPR AED portion. The course is 2-4 hours in length (depending on the number of participants). A refund of the course fee (less a $15.00 processing fee) is available if registration is cancelled at least 3 business days prior to the scheduled course date.
